William Moss

William Moss is a pediatrician with sub-specialty training in infectious diseases who has conducted studies of infectious diseases in children for 30 years in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and India among other countries.

Moss is a professor in the departments of Epidemiology, International Health, and Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. He also serves as executive director of the International Vaccine Access Center and as deputy director of the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute. Both are based at the Bloomberg School.

Moss served on the World Health Organization's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts Working Group for Measles and Rubella from 2011 to 2018. As executive director of the International Vaccine Access Center, he oversees a large portfolio of vaccine-related research.

His broad research interests are the epidemiology and control of childhood infections in low-income countries. Specific areas of expertise are malaria, measles, and other vaccine-preventable diseases. He is a member of the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center leadership team, and is committed to informing the public about COVID-19 vaccines through the Center's website as well as through interviews and presentations.
