Steven Teles is political science professor and a senior fellow at the Niskanen Center, a nonprofit think tank in Washington, D.C. As author of the book, "The Rise of the Conservative Legal Movement: The Battle for Control of the Law," Teles is a leading expert on conservative jurists within the federal judiciary.

Teles is also author of "Prison Break: Why Conservatives Turned Against Mass Incarceration." He is currently working on a book, under contract with Oxford University Press (with Rob Saldin) on Republican opponents of former President Donald Trump. He has published widely in more popular outlets, from Democracy Journal, The Nation, and The American Prospect, to National Affairs, The Public Interest and National Review.
