Luke Osborn's research area is neuroengineering, with a focus on the role of sensory feedback and perception as it pertains to prosthetic limbs, human-machine interfaces, and sensorimotor function.

Osborn has developed innovative multi-layered tactile sensors for prosthetic hands and demonstrated the ability to provide natural sensations of touch and pain to amputees using non-invasive nerve stimulation.
