Chao Wang directs the Nano Energy Laboratory. His research focuses on carbon dioxide capture and conversion, electrochemical energy conversion and storage, and heterogeneous catalysis for green chemical engineering.

Wang believes the foundation for sustainability should be built on efficient and environment-friendly schemes of energy conversion and storage as well as chemical transformations.
