The following faculty appointments and promotions were approved by the university's board of trustees at its meeting on Oct. 4.
Bloomberg School of Public Health
Ashani T. Weeraratna has been appointed a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor. She is chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Bloomberg School and also has appointments in the Department of Oncology at the School of Medicine and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Daniel Desormeaux has been appointed professor, with tenure, in the Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures, and to hold the William D. and Robin Mayer Professorship.
Daniel Horace Deudney has been promoted to professor, with tenure, in the Department of Political Science.
Paul D. Feldman has been appointed professor emeritus in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Hahrie C. Han has been appointed professor, with tenure, in the Department of Political Science.
Eric Puchner has been promoted to associate professor, with tenure, in the Writing Seminars.
Daniel Schlozman has been promoted to associate professor, with tenure, in the Department of Political Science.
Meredith Carroll Ward has been appointed the Faxon Director of Film and Media Studies.
School of Medicine
Emmanuel S. Antonarakis has been promoted to the rank of professor of oncology, with a secondary appointment in Urology.
Frederic B. Askin has been appointed professor emeritus in the Department of Pathology.
Chetan Bettegowda has been promoted to the rank of professor of neurosurgery, with a secondary appointment in Oncology.
William A. Crawley has been appointed associate professor emeritus in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
William Greenough has been appointed professor emeritus in the Department of Medicine.
Barry D. Nelkin has been appointed professor emeritus in the Department of Oncology.
Gianna Pomata has been appointed professor emerita in the Department of the History of Medicine.
Gerald V. Raymond has been reappointed a professor in the Department of Genetic Medicine, with a secondary appointment in Neurology.
Michael C. Schubert has been promoted to the rank of professor of otolaryngology–head and neck surgery, and of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
School of Nursing

Benjamin Van Durne has been promoted to associate professor with indefinite tenure in the Department of Computer Science.
