Johns Hopkins students in need of a reading period respite were treated to a surprise study break on Monday night.

JHU President Ronald J. Daniels—along with his wife, Joanne Rosen; and Terry Martinez, dean of student life—handed out refreshments in front of the Milton S. Eisenhower Library. Students lined up for coffee, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and doughnuts.

The reading period, a time for undergraduate students to prepare for final semester exams, ends today. The final exam period begins Wednesday and concludes on Dec. 18.
