Image caption: Dec. 4 / Curated by students in Museum & Society’s Material Culture class, the exhibition Portrait of a City: Views of Early Baltimore, opening today and on view through May 26, provides historical context for Homewood Museum, the former home of Charles Carroll Jr. The prints and original works of art are from the private collection of noted Baltimore interior designer and art collector Stiles Colwill and include rare states of familiar prints as well as original works of art such as images of the Washington and Battle monuments from a sailor’s sketchbook.
