Lesliam Quirós-Alcalá, an assistant professor of environmental health and engineering, applies exposure science and environmental epidemiology to study the health effects of chemical exposures in underrepresented populations.

Quirós-Alcalá works to inform the development of public health policies and practices, and identify potential interventions to reduce environmental exposures and improve health, with a focus on health effects on highly vulnerable, low-income and minority populations underrepresented and understudied in public health research.
