Ebony McGee, PhD, is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Innovation and Inclusion in the STEM Ecosystem at Johns Hopkins University. With degrees in electrical and industrial engineering, she conducts extensive research on race and structural racism in STEM. Her work explores the mental and physical health consequences of STEM education for Black and other minority students and professionals, focusing on the limits of resilience, wellness, and "job embeddedness." She founded R-RIGHTS and co-founded initiatives like EDEFI and ICQCM, supported by major foundations.

Her latest research examines the connection between STEM innovation and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the creation of infrastructure to support diverse founders. A central theme in her work is equity ethics, where she highlights how racially minoritized individuals in STEM are drawn to social causes and racial justice, using their experiences of marginalization to drive efforts toward ending disparities.
