President's Frontier Award Lecture featuring Dr. Deidra Crews
Description
The fourth annual President's Frontier Award Lecture features 2018 awardee Deidra Crews, who has become a national leader in the study of chronic kidney disease by examining not just its medical causes and effects, but also the socioeconomic factors that can explain profound racial disparities in who has the condition and how well it is managed.
In 2018, Crews received the $250,000 President's Frontier Award for her work to transform the care of disadvantaged populations with chronic kidney disease.
Crews is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Nephrology and is associate vice chair for diversity and inclusion in the Department of Medicine.
