Is your college-enrolled child taking fall semester classes? If so, then now's the time to apply for tuition support.

The university's Tuition Assistance Programs help make higher education more affordable for employees and their eligible children enrolled full-time in undergraduate programs.

Tuition Grant for children: Program overview

The Tuition Grant plan covers a portion of tuition for full-time undergraduate studies at an accredited, degree-granting institution for your dependent children under age 27. Submit your Tuition Grant application in EdAssist starting 90 days before the term begins and no later than 30 days after the start date. Watch this video for a quick overview of the program.

Visit the Tuition Grant webpage for more information including a video that walks you step-by-step through how to apply in EdAssist.

Key reminders

Here's a checklist of important things to know.

  • Multiple dependents? Submit a separate application for each child every term.
  • Both parents work for JHU? Each parent must apply individually for each dependent to receive the full grant.
  • Semester cap: The maximum grant amount is $16,667.50 per semester.
  • Domestic partner children: Use the Tuition Grant—Domestic Partner Children option only if the child is a non–tax dependent.
  • Letter of credit: Each parent must send the letter of credit to the student's school to initiate payment; the school will then invoice EdAssist for each application. If the school doesn't accept the LOC, you will need to go the reimbursement route.
