JHU's virtual Pre-Retirement Program is a two-week live-webinar series created to help faculty and staff prepare for a smooth, confident transition into retirement, whether that time is a decade away or right around the corner. From Sept. 22 through Oct. 3, a webinar a day will help you develop your individual retirement plan.
Program highlights
Webinars last for an hour, and most will begin at noon. When the lineup is finalized, the full list will be available on the Pre-Retirement Program and Resources webpage. Among the highlights:
- JHU Retiree Benefits will summarize medical and dental coverage, life insurance, tuition grants, pension and 403(b) plans, vacation and sick time payouts, and more.
- Social Security and Medicare will offer strategies for maximizing Social Security benefits, understanding Medicare enrollment timelines, and coordinating both with personal savings.
- Financial Planning gives guidance on budgeting, investment draw-down strategies, planning on where to live, and dealing with market uncertainty.
- Lifelong Learning provides insights into continuing to engage in personal enrichment post-retirement.
All sessions stream live online and can be joined from any internet-enabled device. Attendees are encouraged to have a guest join them.
