Changes to Work-Related Incident and Injury Reporting Policy now in effect

Simplified process removes barriers that could delay reporting or treatment for employees

Johns Hopkins University and Medicine have approved amendments to the JHU/JHM Workforce Member Work-Related Incident and Injury Reporting Policy, effective May 1.

The simplified approach is designed to ensure employees' needs are met in the event of work-related incidents and injuries, and to remove any barriers that may delay reporting and/or obtaining treatment.

Under the updated policy:

  • Individuals sustaining work-related injuries may report to any participating organization occupational health/occupational injury clinic, regardless of their workplace location.
  • Individuals sustaining work-related injuries will now complete a universal Employee Report of Incident form.
  • Supervisor signatures are no longer required for submitting incident forms; supervisors will be notified by email if an incident is submitted for their direct reports.
