Johns Hopkins University is launching a new, mandatory virtual training designed to foster an environment at the university that is inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination and harassment, and to ensure compliance with equal opportunity and civil rights laws.
The course, Understanding Title VI: Rights and Responsibilities at JHU, must be completed by all students, faculty, and staff by June 20.
The focus of the course is Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The course explores the ways in which the university and its affiliates demonstrate their commitment to Title VI compliance efforts, how to identify conduct that may violate Title VI, and how to report and address any potential violations of Title VI.
To begin the training, log in to myLearning. You must earn a minimum score of 80% to pass the assessment and successfully complete the course. It should take about 20-30 minutes to complete, and you can begin the course, save your progress, and return to complete it later if necessary.
If you have any issues accessing the training, contact learning@jhu.edu.
