Protecting your retirement savings and investments, having enough money to last a lifetime, and planning for your health care needs are all important considerations in preparing for your retirement. Johns Hopkins University is committed to supporting its employees' financial future, and the Human Resources Office of Benefits & Worklife is again offering its Pre-Retirement Planning Program, through which you can learn how to develop your individual retirement plan.
The Pre-Retirement Program is a virtual two-week series presented each spring and fall, this year from April 21 to May 2 and from Sept. 22 to Oct. 3. Week one focuses on midcareer planning, and week two centers on employees 55 and older or within five years of retirement. The sessions cover JHU retiree benefits, Medicare, financial and legal planning, nonfinancial considerations, and more. Topics include:
- How artificial intelligence can support retirement planning
- Consideration of where to live in retirement
- Living well in retirement
- Financial planning, including understanding investing, Medicare, Social Security, and more
The live webinars can be accessed with any computer, tablet, or mobile phone with internet connectivity. View the spring schedule and register here.
The summer in-person Pre-Retirement Program returns June 4 to the Turner Concourse on the East Baltimore campus, where you'll be able to attend workshops and visit vendor tables to ask questions. The fair will feature partners Marsh McLennan Agency, TIAA, and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, along with presentations on various retirement topics.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a guest to the events. Your guest for the virtual events should register separately using the same registration links if the two of you will watch the webinars using different devices.
If you have trouble with online registration, or have questions about the program and retiree benefits, call 410-516-2000 or email benefits@jhu.edu.
