Considering buying a home in Baltimore City? The Johns Hopkins Live Near Your Work program offers grants of up to $17,000 toward a down payment and closing costs associated with buying a house in designated Baltimore City neighborhoods. Take advantage of this program—as did Ashley Cleveland, senior program adviser for the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation—by getting started with these two upcoming events.
Live Baltimore Spring 2025 Trolley Tour
Live Baltimore is hosting its Spring 2025 Trolley Tour, a free event open to all buyers at all stages of the homebuying process, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane.

At this event, you can explore 10+ neighborhoods on a narrated tour of Northwest Baltimore, connect with real estate professionals and community organizations, and learn more about the homebuying process and incentives that may be available to you. (Note: Some neighborhoods featured on the tour may not be eligible for the Hopkins LNYW grant because they fall outside the program boundary lines.)
Following the event, eligible attendees can apply for a $5,000 incentive award from Buying Into Baltimore and be entered into a lottery. Additional details and incentives can be found on the Live Baltimore website.

Live Baltimore offers incentives that may be used in addition to the Johns Hopkins Live Near Your Work grant program; to learn more about eligibility, grant amounts, neighborhood boundaries, and the application process, register for the webinar below.
