Winners of JHU Staff Advisory Council election announced

18 new and returning members will begin two-year terms this month

When the JHU Staff Advisory Council was formally launched in February 2024, some inaugural members were randomly selected to serve terms of one year rather than two, creating staggered membership terms to allow new representatives to join the council every year. Those with one-year terms were allowed to run for reelection during the voting that took place in December 2024.

Moving forward, all membership terms last two years. Members may serve up to two terms but must nominate themselves and be elected for each term.

More than 140 self-nominated candidates were on the slate for this second round of openings, and almost 2,000 full-time staff voted for candidates across the divisions. The new group joins the previously elected 18 members currently serving two-year-terms.

The following newly elected members were announced to the university community on Feb. 10 in an email from Laurent Heller, executive vice president for finance and administration, and Meredith Stewart, interim vice president for human resources. Their terms begin this month.
