Even though your decisions about your 2025 benefits were made weeks ago, some related issues may need your attention now, whether it's asking for corrections, signing up for a Child Care Voucher or Scholarship, or notifying providers of your new pharmacy ID number. Here's what you need to know.
2025 Benefits confirmation statements
Take a moment to carefully review your 2025 Benefits Enrollment Confirmation that you received in the mail to ensure that your elections are correct. You also can retrieve your benefits enrollment confirmation statement by visiting myChoices.
If the elections shown are incorrect, you must email the Benefits Services Center at benefits@jhu.edu no later than Dec. 31:
- Indicate "2025 Annual Enrollment Correction" in the subject line.
- Include full details of the correction you are requesting, including dependent information and documentation (e.g., birth certificate).
- You will receive a return email acknowledging receipt of your request.
If you are currently working with the Benefits Service Center to make a 2025 correction, the change may not be reflected on your mailed statement; once your change has been processed, it should be reflected online in myChoices.
If you are covering a child who is currently age 26, that coverage will end on Dec. 31, 2024.
Child Care Vouchers/Scholarships and beneficiaries
If you did not apply for the Child Care Voucher or Scholarship programs, you can still do so by Dec. 31 for coverage to begin Jan. 1. Go to myChoices, select Life Events, and then choose My Child Care Needs Have Changed.
If you need to change your beneficiary, you can do so online at any time. Go to myChoices, then Life Events and Beneficiary Updates.
Medical ID card
CareFirst members will receive a new ID card in December. The medical ID number and pharmacy ID numbers are not changing. Kaiser HMO plan members will not receive a new medical ID card.
WEX spending account card
You will not receive a new WEX spending account card unless your card is about to expire. If you need to request a new card, or additional cards for your family members, log into your WEX account to request the card(s) to be mailed to your home.
Life insurance evidence of insurability
Your confirmation statement reflects the amount of life insurance you can elect without evidence of insurability, or EOI. It may differ from the election that you made during Annual Enrollment. If you had existing supplemental life insurance coverage and elected to move up one level of coverage, EOI is not required. If you moved up more than one level of coverage, you will need to complete an EOI. If you elected supplemental life insurance for the first time (and are not a new hire), EOI is required for any amount of supplemental coverage you elect. Securian Financial will reach out to you by email to start the EOI process.
