Shine a light on suicide prevention

Join JHEAP for a timely virtual gathering, and learn about important resources for those in need of support

September shines an encouraging light on suicide prevention with World Suicide Prevention Day (9/10), National Suicide Prevention Week (9/8-9/14), and Suicide Prevention Month (9/1–9/30).

These observances were created to remind individuals everywhere that they don't have to solve life's challenges alone. Understanding the issue of suicide, being aware of the warning signs, and knowing how to talk about it can create a more compassionate society in which those in need feel more comfortable seeking help.

Event

Join JHEAP, the Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program, for An Afternoon of Hope on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The virtual event, happening from 2 to 5 p.m., will feature mental health experts and stories of survival to help foster connection and empower people to support each other through shared experiences.
