Are you ready to unlock your full potential and achieve your dreams? The Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program is committed to helping employees be their best selves and is now offering one-on-one life coaching services by appointment, beginning in July. This is a pilot program to gauge the interest of the Hopkins community, so if you are interested, take action now. Life coaching can empower you with the tools and guidance needed to thrive both personally and professionally.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a holistic, proactive approach to enhancing overall well-being and is a powerful tool for personal development. Coaches focus on enhancing quality of life by addressing individual aspects such as career growth, personal relationships, health, and work-life balance to help clients achieve their goals.

JHEAP's certified life coaches can help you:

  • Adopt healthier habits and routines
  • Break out of your comfort zone (if, for example, you've moved to a new area)
  • Balance work, personal life, and leisure activities
  • Help keep you accountable for achieving your goals

JHEAP life coaching sessions provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your potential, build confidence, and celebrate your successes. Your coach's guidance, support, and strategies can help you reach your goals and perhaps transform your life. Your coach also can refer you to work-life services or a JHEAP clinician to assist with stress at work or at home, emotional distress, a difficult life transition, or other challenges that may be better supported by counseling.

How it works

Your life coaching program has four major components.

  • Initial consultation: Your journey begins with a one-on-one conversation, either by phone or online, to discuss your individual goals and challenges.
  • Customized coaching plan: Using evidence-based techniques and strategies, your coach will help you create actionable plans and keep you motivated as you embrace them.
  • Regular sessions: You'll have up to six coaching sessions to monitor your progress, address new challenges, and celebrate successes.
  • Ongoing support: Coaches are committed to your long-term success and can provide resources to help you stay on track.
