The Office of Benefits & Worklife will host virtual benefits overviews for new employees on July 8, 10, and 11. New full-time faculty and staff are invited to attend any of the sessions, which will cover the same information. The 90-minute Zoom meetings will include an overview of the benefits options offered by the university, along with time for Q&A. Register here for the session you'd like to attend:

After your employee file has processed through Human Resources and Payroll, you will receive an email from the Benefits Office directing you to the benefits enrollment portal. Once you complete enrollment—which must occur within the first 30 days following your hire date—and your accounts have been set up with the insurance carriers, coverage will be effective retroactive to your employment start date.

Waiving JHU medical: Those who will not use JHU medical benefits are required to identify their alternative medical plan. All other benefits are still available to you if you waive JHU medical offerings.

Questions can be directed to the Benefits Service Center at 410-516-2000 or benefits@jhu.edu.
