Get ready for Johns Hopkins Family Building Week

Here's a rundown of the webinar topics and times so that you can sign up now

Are you planning, expecting, or welcoming a new member into your family? Johns Hopkins Family Building week is happening virtually from April 22 to 26. Presented by the Office of Benefits & Worklife, these webinars are available to all Hopkins affiliates. For those unable to attend the live webinars, sessions will be recorded and shared afterward with those who have registered. Click on the sessions below to register.

JHU Benefits and Leave. Join this session for an overview of the various benefits and leave options available to Johns Hopkins University employees who are planning, expecting, or welcoming a new member to their family. Leave options covered include short-term disability, the Family Medical and Leave Act, and birth recovery/parental leave. This session also will review the benefits available to you and your family members, as well as the steps necessary to add a dependent to your benefits package. Tuesday, April 23, at noon.

JHHS Benefits and Leave (for JHH, JHHS, Bayview, and Howard County employees). This session will cover all benefits expecting parents may qualify for, including the Family Medical and Leave Act and leave of absence and how to apply for them. Tuesday, April 23, at 10 a.m.

School of Nursing Birthing Companions. The School of Nursing Birthing Companions program, which trains student nurses to serve in a doula role, offers support before, during, and after birth. The companions provide emotional, informational, and physical support to those giving birth and serve as an advocate during the entire birthing process. This session will provide an overview of the program and the services offered. Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m.

Family and Caregiving Programs. Learn about family programs offered by JHU Benefits & Worklife, including the Lactation Support Program, Care@Work Backup Care, the Child Care Voucher program, and scholarships to JHU child care centers. Program eligibility will also be covered, and the session will have time for a Q+A. Thursday, April 25, at noon.

Self-Care Playbook. This presentation from Johns Hopkins Medicine's Office of Well-Being will teach you how to build a personalized playbook to practice self-care to support your well-being. Wednesday, April 24, at 10 a.m.

Nutrition During Pregnancy. Join a nutrition expert from Burnalong to learn about healthy eating habits during pregnancy. Wednesday, April 24, at 11 a.m.

Infant Safety. This session will provide an overview of car seat, sleep, and home safety. Injuries are preventable when you have the tools needed to prevent them. Monday, April 22, at 2 p.m.
