IRS sets 2024 contribution limits for 403(b) plans

The pretax elective deferral increases by $500 to $23,000

The Internal Revenue Service recently announced the annual 403(b) limits for 2024. They are as follows:

  • Pretax elective deferral: $23,000 (was $22,500 in 2023)
  • Age 50 and over catch-up: $7,500 (was $7,500 in 2023)
  • Overall by employer/employee: $69,000 (was $66,000 in 2023)
  • Annual compensation limit: $345,000 (was $330,000 in 2023)
