All Johns Hopkins faculty, staff, and students are invited to help brighten the holidays for families facing hardships by participating in the Adopt-a-Family/Senior program.
The Office of Government, Community and Economic Partnerships partners with local nonprofit and social service agencies to provide gifts, clothing, and grocery gift cards to families and individuals in need of assistance during the holiday season.
Among this year's partners are the Family Recovery Program, Harvey Johnson Towers, Franklin Center, Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy, and Fort Worthington EMS.
Wish lists are being accepted by nonprofits until Tuesday, Oct. 1, and matches for families and seniors will be made before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Departments, or individuals, must register on the Human Resources website by Nov. 1 in order to participate. After submitting the completed registration form, you will be matched with a family or senior and will be sent their wish list.
You will be asked to drop off your wrapped gifts on Dec. 4 or 5 at Johns Hopkins at Eastern.
