The Office of Benefits & Worklife's Pre-Retirement Program returns this spring with virtual sessions scheduled from Friday, April 14, to Friday, April 28.

The program begins with an ongoing monthly meeting called Retirement Readiness, during which a networking group discusses social and emotional aspects that may hinder the path to retirement. Conversations have included concerns about how to spend time, how retirement may impact relationships, and how to find purpose. These discussion groups will be held the second Friday of the month through June 9 and resume on Sept. 8 after a summer break. Join the conversation at this link.

A new offering in the 2023 Pre-Retirement Program lineup is Envision Retirement, an interactive session that will use visual journaling to help participants picture their post-work life. During this virtual meeting you will engage in an exercise to help you learn ways to reduce stress around approaching retirement and to help you open up about your emotions or challenges. Envisioning Retirement: A Guided Visual Journaling Exercise will take place at noon on Friday, April 21. Register here.

To learn about future JHU-specific benefits, you will want to attend the JHU Benefits in Retirement webinar at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18. For this and other topics, such as Medicare and financial-planning webinars, go to the Planning for Retirement page of the Benefits & Worklife website and click on Register Here to see the full agenda.

In 2023 the Pre-Retirement Program will return to a face-to-face format for its summer program, which will be held on Wednesday, June 7. Save the date and join the Office of Benefits & Worklife from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Turner Concourse on the East Baltimore campus for a retirement fair that will include two live presentations: JHU Benefits in Retirement and Transitioning to Medicare. In addition, representatives from JHU vendor partners, JHU-sponsored lifelong learning programs, and other groups will be on-site. Detailed information will appear in future editions of HR Newswire and in Today's Announcements.

Save the dates Sept. 8 to 22 to wrap up the year with the 2023 virtual Fall Pre-Retirement Program.
