At JHU, your benefits go far beyond just health and life insurance—and beyond the workplace. JHU offers a number of voluntary benefits, family support, and discount programs designed to offer added protection to you and your family and to enhance your quality of life.
New and enhanced voluntary benefits
Beginning in 2022, you'll have the opportunity to elect these new voluntary benefit offerings:
- Identity theft protection: The Identity Theft Protection program administered by Allstate can offer you peace of mind, as well as valuable services that can help you both prevent identity theft and recover your identity if you become a victim.
- Pet insurance: Many of us became "pet parents" once the global pandemic began, and JHU is pleased to announce the addition of voluntary pet insurance through Nationwide. This benefit will help you protect your furry family members by managing the rising costs of veterinary care.
In addition, you will see some enhancements to critical illness insurance.
- Critical illness insurance provides additional financial protection to you during treatment for illnesses such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease. You receive a lump-sum benefit to help you pay some of your additional expenses as you see fit, including co-pays and deductibles, as well as personal expenses such as mortgage payments and child care. Enhancements to the critical illness insurance benefits for 2022 include increased recurrence benefits and an expanded list of covered conditions. Your options for coverage are $10,000, $15,000, $20,000, $25,000, $30,000.
