Overview of child care and school-age resources

Here's a roundup of options available to support the families of JHU employees

As the school year continues, Johns Hopkins wants to remind its employees about the child care and school-age resources available to them through Family and Caregiving programs in the Office of Benefits & Worklife.

New: 20% discount at Varsity Tutors. Varsity Tutors is offering all Hopkins affiliates a 20% discount on expert live instruction. The special Hopkins-only website can be reached through a link on the Family and Caregiving webpage or here.

New: COVID-19 Caregiving Relief Fund. Applications are now open. Full-time benefits-eligible JHU employees, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, medical students, house staff, residents, interns, and trainees with a base salary of up to $175,000 are eligible. Employees and students have different application links, which can be found here. Detailed program information, including FAQ and a list of eligible expenses, can be found at this link.

Komae app helps affiliates find others with whom to form babysitting co-ops at no cost.

Care@Work is a digital platform that allows you to search on your own or get help with a customized search for child care, eldercare, tutors, nanny shares, pet care, and more.

Backup Care from Care@Work provides up to 20 days of backup care when your regular child care or eldercare is not available.

Expert Assistance From Care@Work connects you with a care specialist who will help you find the care you need.

Child Care Voucher Program offers up to $5,000 in funding to be used for a child care provider of your choice.

Maryland Family Network offers enhanced resources and referrals to child care providers in Maryland.

mySupport provides 24/7 emotional, well-being, parenting and life support/coaching, mental health counseling, out-of-state child care searches, educational resources, and elder care consultation, support, and resources.
