Having an eating strategy in place can help keep you healthy through the holidays.

The average person gains about 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, but gaining weight during the holiday season is not inevitable. It is possible to enjoy favorite foods without overindulging.

The wellness webinar Healthy Eating Around the Holidays will examine the pitfalls of holiday eating and review tips on making healthy choices without missing out on the festivities. This live webinar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Candace Gunn, a well-being coach with Business Health Services, will help you:

  • Understand why holiday weight gain occurs
  • Learn strategies for healthier holiday eating
  • Gain tools for formulating a personal holiday eating and exercise plan

Gunn is a certified personal trainer, health and wellness coach, and fitness instructor with a background in education, training, and human resources. Her certifications include Aqua Zumba, Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold Instructor, Certified Schwinn Cycling Instructor, Take Shape for Life Health Coach, and Red Cross CPR.
