A new benefits plan year may mean new insurance cards. To see if you should receive new membership cards, check the list below.

Note that insurance cards are mailed to members from the provider. To check on the status of your cards or to request additional cards, contact the provider directly. Phone numbers for all benefits plan vendors are available on the Benefits & Worklife website.

EHP. New cards will be sent to ALL EHP participants this year.

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Indemnity, Kaiser Permanente, BlueChoice. Cards will be sent only to new participants and existing members who made changes.

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield High-Deductible Health Plan. Cards will be sent to all employees who enrolled in the new HDHP.

Express Scripts Prescription. Express Scripts cards will be sent to new participants only. All others can continue to use their current card.

Delta Dental Standard and Delta Dental Enhanced With Orthodontia. Cards will be sent to new standard or enhanced plan participants.

EyeMed Vision. Cards will be sent only to new EyeMed participants.

Discovery Benefits Health Care FSA Reimbursement Card. Discovery Benefits has replaced WageWorks as the administrator for flexible spending accounts. New cards will be sent by the end of the year to all who elected a health care FSA for 2020. Starting Jan. 1, 2020, the Discovery Benefits card will pull from 2020 funds.

You will continue to file your 2019 claims with WageWorks up to the claims deadline of April 30, 2020. If you still have a remaining 2019 balance with WageWorks by that date, up to $500 will automatically roll over to your 2020 health care FSA or limited purpose FSA (for high-deductible health plan participants) with Discovery Benefits. The rollover amount will be deposited into your Discovery Benefits FSA by May 30 (after the April 30 deadline for 2019 claims).

Please note that reimbursement cards pull funds from the current plan year, so effective Jan. 1, 2020, you will no longer be able to use your WageWorks debit card. To use funds from your 2019 account before the carryover has occurred, you must have incurred the expense by Dec. 31, 2019, and must submit a pay-me-back request for reimbursement to WageWorks by April 30.

Discovery Benefits Health Savings Account Reimbursement Card. A Discovery Benefits debit card will be sent to all participants. The card can be used to pay for qualifying 2020 medical, dental, and vision expenses, reducing your out-of-pocket-costs.
