As part of Parks and Recreation Month in July, think about adding more walking to your fitness routine. Walking is real exercise; it regulates blood sugar, improves digestion, and lowers blood pressure. And walking outdoors gives you the extra benefit of improving your mental well-being. Participate in Wellness Walking, a free live webinar scheduled for noon on Wednesday, July 24, and learn how to walk your way to better health.

During the session, presenter Earnest McDonald will:

  • Define different types of walking
  • Review fitness recommendations
  • Discuss the benefits of walking
  • Help you set walking goals
  • Teach proper walking technique
  • Provide tips to stay motivated

McDonald is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and wellness adviser. He operates fit.reActive!, a mobile training service that provides personalized exercise programs for the home and office. He also is certified by Les Mills International as an instructor of the RPM indoor cycling and BodyPump weight training group fitness programs.
