The 36th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, in Turner Auditorium on the East Baltimore campus. Seating for this celebration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The keynote speaker will be Bill Strickland, president and CEO of the nonprofit Manchester Bidwell Corp. in Pittsburgh; a noted community leader, speaker, and author; and a recipient of a MacArthur "genius" grant and the Goi Peace Award.
In addition, eight candidates from the Johns Hopkins University and Health System will be recognized with the 2017 Award for Community Service.
