IRS sets 2018 contribution limits for 403(b) plan

The Internal Revenue Service recently announced the annual 403(b) limits for 2018. They are as follows:

  • Pretax elective deferral: $18,500 (was $18,000 in 2017)
  • Age 50 and over catch-up: $6,000 (same as 2017)
  • Overall by employer/employee: $55,000 (was $54,000 in 2017)
  • Annual compensation limit: $275,000 (was $270,000 in 2017)

You are able to view, make changes, and enroll in your Johns Hopkins University retirement plan at any time during the year using the online Retirement Choice portal available on the myChoices tab of the Benefits website.
