IRS sets 2017 contribution limits for 403(b) plan

The Internal Revenue Service recently announced the annual 403(b) limits for 2017. They are as follows:

  • Pre-tax elective deferral: $18,000 (same as 2016)
  • Age 50 and over catch-up: $6,000 (same as 2016)
  • Overall by employer/employee: $ 54,000 (up from $53,000 in 2016)
  • Annual compensation: $270,000 (up from $265,000 in 2016)

You are able to view, change, and enroll in your Johns Hopkins University retirement plan at any time during the year using the online Retirement Choice portal available on the myChoices tab of the Benefits website.
