Wordplay at Work: Beginning Writing and Grammar on the Job

This interactive and humorous workshop called Wordplay at Work: Beginning Writing and Grammar on the Job is designed for those of you seeking to refamiliarize yourselves with the basics of report-based writing, English grammar/mechanics, appropriate tone, and effective style.

The course will explore the key elements of writing and demonstrate the differences between editing and revising. In addition, participants will learn strategies for overcoming a variety of "extratextual" concerns such as writer's block, hard deadlines, cultural expectations, and audience indifference. By the end of the course, participants will become more capable and less "phobic" workplace writers.

Learning and Development will offer the workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Johns Hopkins at Eastern. Register online.
