Johns Hopkins supports a culture of health and wellness, and it's important to remember that the building blocks of a healthy lifestyle include more than eating right and exercising (although they're a good start). Your benefits program can help.
To encourage and support health awareness and healthy lifestyle choices, the university will be hosting free biometric screenings at our annual benefits fairs, two of which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Turner Concourse on the East Baltimore campus and on Monday, Oct. 10, in the Glass Pavilion at Homewood. Additional screening locations will be announced later this fall.
By getting a biometric screening, you will know your numbers—body mass index, cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose, and triglycerides—which are important indicators of your health. There is power in knowing your numbers because if any are outside the healthy range, you can take steps to get them back to where they should be.
You should also make it a priority this enrollment season to get regular preventive care, which is covered at 100 percent in-network. Included at no cost to you are your annual physical, age-appropriate screenings, and immunizations.
