Raising awareness for depression, suicide prevention

The Office of Work, Life and Engagement encourages everyone to support an American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of the Darkness campus walk on Saturday, April 9, to raise awareness and money for the prevention of depression and suicide. The event, organized by the Johns Hopkins Student Assistance Program, is part of an initiative that takes place each spring at colleges and high schools across the country. The walk is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Faculty, staff, students, families, and friends are invited to participate by walking and/or raising funds.

By taking part in the Johns Hopkins University Campus Walk, you will be walking with thousands of individuals to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's important research and education programs to save lives.

The 3+ mile walk will start at the School of Nursing on the East Baltimore campus and loop to Patterson Park and back. To register or make a donation online for the Johns Hopkins University effort, visit the Johns Hopkins Student Assistance Program website and select the walk in the Events box.
