Thousands of family members of Johns Hopkins students visited the university's Homewood campus for Family Weekend, which was scheduled Oct. 5-7.
The annual tradition provides an opportunity for families of undergraduate students in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering to connect with their student and the larger Hopkins community. Families were invited to sit in on classes, tour the campus, meet the deans, learn the history of Homewood, take in a concert featuring the Plain White T's, and learn about campus resources, among other scheduled activities such as touring Baltimore, visiting Peabody, and taking in concerts and plays performed by students.
"Family Weekend is a chance for Blue Jay families to experience the Homewood campus at Johns Hopkins University through their student's eyes," says Kesha Williams, director of parent and family relations. "Parents and families get the opportunity to enjoy diverse programming, experience university amenities, and most importantly, spend some quality time with their student."
