Participants in the ballroom dance Intersession course at Johns Hopkins get in step during a recent session in Glass Pavilion at Levering Hall on the university's Homewood campus. The course, instructed by Mary Jane Hartner, is traditionally one of the most popular intersession offerings. Over 10 sessions, students and faculty learn the basics of foxtrot, waltz, swing, tango, salsa, rhumba, and cha cha. Two, three, cha-cha-cha.
Intersession, which runs through Jan. 24, offers a mix of non-credit personal enrichment courses—including ballroom dance, wine tasting, yoga, an introduction to the Appalachian fiddle, among many others.
