Hopkins takes a snow day

Neighborhoods across the Baltimore region saw 8 to 12 inches of snow and sleet this weekend, giving students the perfect opportunity to break out their sleds (or whatever else they could find)

Johns Hopkins canceled in-person activities, classes, and events at its Baltimore and Washington, D.C., campuses this past weekend, but that doesn't mean students stayed home! Blue Jays gathered with a variety of sleds, tubes, trays, tables, snowboards, cardboard boxes, and anything else they could find to get them down Homewood's hills as fast as possible. Some students even built a makeshift ramp by the Bloomberg Student Center, creating a real-life physics lesson as they achieved airtime.

In-person activities remain canceled through Monday, Jan. 26. Visit the university's alerts page for official updates on campus operations, and sign up for RAVE alerts for text messages targeted by campus.
