Johns Hopkins welcomes hundreds of new Blue Jays to campus

Incoming first-year students moved into Homewood campus residence halls on Sunday, marking the beginning of New Student Orientation

It's that time of year again: endless cars circling the Beach, parents wrestling fitted sheets onto twin XL beds, Jay hyping up students for their first semester at Johns Hopkins University.

On Sunday, the university officially welcomed the Class of 2029—its 150th undergraduate class—during First-Year Student Move-In Day. The new class includes about 1,300 students who hail from 49 states, 28 countries outside of the U.S., and Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and American Samoa, with 21% identifying as first-generation college students.

To all of JHU's new Blue Jays: Welcome, and have fun during Orientation Week!
