More than 100 hundred senior leaders from across Johns Hopkins University gathered Nov. 13 at the Mt. Washington Conference Center for the third annual Leadership Development Program Alumni Conference, a daylong program of leadership learning and networking.

Now in its 27th year, the Leadership Development Program has long been considered the flagship leadership learning offering for senior leaders across the university. The program has graduated more than 860 faculty and staff members, many of whom have moved into positions of greater influence across the university and the communities it serves.

The LDP alumni—a large number of whom have attended all three conferences—were welcomed by Kathy Forbush, executive director of Talent Management, and Savio Franco, inaugural director of Leadership Learning. Christopher Littlefield, a noted speaker and expert in employee appreciation and workplace culture and founder of a leadership training company called Beyond Thank You, gave a keynote address that was followed by five morning and afternoon workshops:

  • Managing Forward (to Get What You Want)
  • Becoming a Strategic Thinker
  • Building and Leading High-Performing Hybrid and Remote Teams
  • Being Resilient in Times of Uncertainty
  • Influencing Others and Improving Your Negotiation Skills

Attendees noted that they value the opportunity to reconnect with fellow cohort members and others from across the university and to receive fresh insights and practical tips to keep growing as engaged and effective leaders.
