Hopkins shows its pride

Affiliates from Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine turned out in large numbers to march in this year's Baltimore Pride Parade

Hundreds of Johns Hopkins affiliates came together to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at this year's Baltimore Pride Parade on June 15. The route stretched from Homewood campus down to 24th Street, culminating with a community Block Party.

The original Baltimore Pride was held in 1975 and consisted of a small peaceful demonstration. Since then, the event has grown into Maryland's largest LGBTQ+ celebration, with this year's organizers preparing for crowds of 100,000. The 2024 theme was "Power of The Past, Force of The Future."
