Engineering's night at the museum

The festive gathering was part of the Whiting School's annual celebration of National Engineers Week

More than 200 Whiting School of Engineering graduate students, alumni, and faculty enjoyed an evening of networking, food, drinks, and science-themed exhibits—including more than a dozen full-sized dinosaur skeletons—during the first Night at the Museum, held Thursday at the Maryland Science Center.

Part of the Whiting School's annual National Engineers Week celebration, the evening was the brainchild of materials science and engineering doctoral students Megan Bokhoor and Hadas Elazar-Mittleman, who wanted to bring the engineering community together in a relaxed, engaging, and science-themed setting. With the support of Ed Schlesinger, dean of the Whiting School of Engineering, WSE Graduate Student Affairs, and WSE Development and Alumni Relations, their idea became a reality.

"We hope tonight will provide you with an opportunity to network with each other, build community within Whiting, as well as the Baltimore community, engage with faculty and alumni, and have some fun in this unique setting," said Schlesinger.
