A small circular underwater robot with multiple lights and propellers hovers between two large coral formations, exploring a deep blue marine environment

Description

From national security to new resource discovery, Earth's unmapped oceans hold unanswered questions with global consequences. Could autonomous marine robots reveal what has long remained out of reach?

Marine technologies expert and Arctic expedition leader James Bellingham, executive director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy, will explore this question and discuss his latest book, How Are Marine Robots Shaping Our Future?, in conversation with Nell Greenfieldboyce, A&S '94, '95 (MA), an NPR science correspondent.

How Are Marine Robots Shaping Our Future? is published under the Johns Hopkins Wavelengths series by the Johns Hopkins University Press.

This event is presented by Johns Hopkins Wavelengths in partnership with the Sheridan Libraries & University Museums.
