MBG Seminar Series | Breaking Barriers: How ZFP661 Promotes Protocadherin Expression Diversity and Big Brains in Mammals by Permeabilizing CTCF Barriers to Cohesion
Description
Todd Macfarlan, head of the Section on Mammalian Development and Evolution at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development's Division of Developmental Biology, will give a talk titled "Breaking Barriers: How ZFP661 Promotes Protocadherin Expression Diversity and Big Brains in Mammals by Permeabilizing CTCF Barriers to Cohesion" as a Molecular Biology & Genetics Seminar.
In his role, Macfarlan explores the impact of endogenous retroviruses and their KRAB-zinc finger protein controllers on embryonic development and on the evolution of new traits in mammals.
