Description

The 44th annual Johns Hopkins MLK Commemoration event features two keynote speakers:

  • Nicole Cooper, chief external affairs and transformation officer at the United Way of the National Capital Area
  • Melvin Wilson, executive director of Turnaround Tuesday, a Baltimore-based organization that connects formerly incarcerated individuals and others with employment opportunities and equips them with job skills

This year's theme is "Impact: The Power of Communities," reflecting King's call for unity, peace, and justice.

The event will include recognition of the 11 recipients of the 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service as well as the recipient of the Levi Watkins Jr. Ideals Award. It will also include a performance by the Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins choir.
