Writing the Writing Assignment

Description

How do you design a writing assignment to give your students the best possible chance of success? What features motivate students to want to complete the assignment? In this workshop to help instructors develop and revise materials for next term, attendees will share research-based principles of good writing-assignment design. Attendees will also discuss artificial intelligence (AI) considerations, including options for integrating generative AI tools to support students' growth as writers. Attendees will also have time during the workshop to explore some of these tools, share strategies, and get feedback on their assignments from other workshop participants.
