Description

Join the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare for the 9th Annual Johns Hopkins Research Symposium on Engineering in Healthcare, "Human + AI: Redefining the Standard of Care in Medicine," at the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland.

The adoption of AI tools in healthcare is rapidly increasing, with applications across clinical practice and medical research. Realizing the full potential of this technology while avoiding its pitfalls requires close collaboration between experts across medicine and engineering.

At this symposium, speakers will share their experiences developing and deploying AI tools for clinical practice, while poster sessions and breakout discussions will bring together clinical researchers, engineering faculty, and students from across Johns Hopkins to discuss emerging challenges, build connections, and foster new collaborations.

All interested in engineering and healthcare—faculty, clinicians, researchers, students, and industry leaders—are invited to attend.

When: Monday, Dec. 8, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., reception to follow

Where: Glass Pavilion at Levering Hall, Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus, 3400 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21218

We will be livestreaming the entire symposium on our website. Those who intend to watch the livestream do not need to register, but may register if they wish to receive reminders/updates on the symposium. Please indicate on the registration form that you intend to view the livestream only.

What to expect:

  • Expert sessions and panels featuring thought leaders from academia and industry on using AI for medical training and education, quality and safety, diagnostics, and clinical documentation.
  • Exhibition halls where attendees can explore the latest in healthcare engineering research with in-person explanations and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Collaboration opportunities to learn and connect with peers in the healthcare engineering field.

Please check the 2025 symposium page for program updates and speaker information.
