Description

In this interactive 90-minute workshop, participants will learn how to design effective prompts for generative artificial intelligence to create role-playing simulations that immerse students in meaningful, authentic learning experiences. The session will cover techniques for crafting prompts that engage learners, provide scaffolding, foster critical thinking, and simulate real-world scenarios across diverse educational contexts.

By aligning AI-driven simulations with specific learning objectives, educators can enhance student understanding of content, support the development of process skills, and promote metacognitive strategies. Participants will leave with practical strategies and examples they can apply immediately to incorporate generative AI role-play into their own teaching practices.

This workshop is co-hosted by the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Education.
