Description

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Agora Institute will bring together civic leaders, students, scholars, and the Baltimore community for an afternoon of connection, curiosity, and collective imagination. Explore how we can "Make Space for Democracy" through presentations by renowned scholars and advocates, respectful debates and guided discussions, and introductions to cutting-edge research from SNF Agora Institute faculty and partners.

Build new relationships as we enhance, reflect on, and renew our shared commitment to democratic life. Connect across communities as you reenergize with a renewed sense of hope, affirmed purpose, and actionable momentum.

The invigorating and thought-provoking afternoon will consider how to pursue our shared vision and ideals despite our differences. Sessions will explore diverse approaches to creating inclusive democratic spaces; how our personal narratives shape democracy; insight, ideas, and best practices from SNF Agora Institute scholars; and the bold dreams and plans developed by Baltimore high school students as part of the inaugural Democracy Design Lab.

Featured speakers include Tangle media founder Isaac Saul, film director Nicholas Ma, and retired U.S. Representative John Sarbanes. The festival will also include networking and refreshments.
